1. Overview

BRNDY supplies custom printed packaging and related goods. Sustainability outcomes depend on material choice, usage context and available recovery infrastructure.

BRNDY partners with Australian-owned manufacturing partners where available to support quality control, production consistency and reliable delivery timeframes.

Where BRNDY refers to recyclable, compostable or certified materials, those references relate to product material characteristics and applicable certification standards. They do not guarantee collection or processing within your local area.

2. Materials & Common Terms

The following terms are commonly used across BRNDY products. Exact specifications may vary between products.

PE (Polyethylene) is a conventional plastic commonly used as a lining or coating in certain paper products. It improves moisture resistance and heat performance but is not compostable.

PS (Polystyrene) is a rigid plastic often used for hot drink lids. It provides a firm fit and heat resistance but is not compostable.

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a plant-based bioplastic used in certain linings and lids. It may be described as compostable under specified industrial composting conditions, subject to certification.

CPLA (Crystallised PLA) is a heat-resistant form of PLA used for hot drink lids. It is typically intended for commercial composting environments, subject to certification.

Fibre generally refers to moulded plant-fibre materials (including sugarcane bagasse or wood pulp). Certain fibre products may be certified home compostable where specified.

3. Compostability & Standards

"Home compostable" generally refers to products intended to break down in a domestic compost environment under suitable conditions, subject to relevant certification.

"Commercially compostable" generally refers to products intended for industrial composting facilities operating under controlled conditions, subject to relevant certification.

4. Certifications

Where a product is described as certified (including home compostable or commercially compostable), certification is issued in relation to the material and/or product by third-party manufacturers or recognised testing bodies.

In Australia, compostability certifications may reference standards such as AS 5810 (home compostable) or AS 4736 (commercially compostable). The applicable standard, if any, will depend on the specific product.

BRNDY does not independently test or certify products. Certification status and documentation are determined and maintained by the relevant manufacturer.

For detailed technical or certification information relating to a particular product, customers may refer to the manufacturer of the relevant material or product.

5. Disposal

Disposal methods depend on local waste collection systems and council guidance. Customers should follow local collection rules applicable to their business location.

For technical disposal guidance relating to a particular product, customers may consult the manufacturer or relevant local authority.

6. Changes to This Page

BRNDY may update this page from time to time to reflect product range updates, terminology changes or supplier updates. The version in effect at the time of your order will apply to product descriptions within that order.
